Program: All about Flower-bulbs: From tulips to special bulbs and lilies to "non-hardy" bulbs that thrive in Ithaca!
Speaker: Professor Bill Miller, professor of Horticulture and director of Graduate Studies in the School of Integrative Plant Science (Horticulture), will cover aspects of flower-bulb gardening in this area. How deep should you plant a tulip or other bulb? Many are intrigued by the "lesser" (or special) bulbs. Whether Anemone blanda, Chionodoxa, Scilla, Hyacinthoides, Muscari, Crocus, Iris, Fritillaria, Bellvalia, the onions and many others there is a bulb for every part of the garden and flowering time. Bill will also discuss the rapidly expanding would of cut flower lilies.
